HSV plans restart in league two without leadership trio

Dino on farewell tour: After the derby defeat in Bremen, even the most daring optimists at Hamburger SV no longer believe in relegation. Internally, the plans for the restart in the 2nd Bundesliga are already in full swing. A complete change is imminent – also at management level.

The bare facts speak volumes: penultimate after 24 games, seven points behind the relegation rank and the worst offensive in the league. A balance of horror for the HSV, which is unlikely to save. The first descent of the club’s history seems sealed.

In order to get back on the legs in the lower house as quickly as possible, the club should be turned around personell. Only a handful of professionals will be left from the current squad. In addition, the exchange of sporting leadership is considered a decided thing. This is reported by the “kicker”.

Accordingly, it should have been discussed at the first meeting of the Supervisory Board with the new President Bernd Hoffmann on Tuesday that CEO Heribert Bruchhagen, sports director Jens Todt and coach Bernd Hollerbach must leave the club in the summer.

The committee should agree that a strong, unencumbered sports director should ensure more continuity in the future. Potential candidates are unknown.

At the weekend, the HSV will compete in the local Volkspark against baseman competitor Mainz 05. The Redskins have been waiting for twelve games for a win. Under Coach Hollerbach, who had replaced Markus Gisdol in January, brought the team so far only two points.
