The Turkish top club Besiktas has returned to Istanbul after the 0: 5 at the football Bundesliga club Bayern Munich dejected. The former Hoffenheim Ryan Babel therefore has little hope of getting ahead in the Champions League.
The Turkish champion was able to keep up well in the opening minutes. Sticking point, however, was the dismissal of Domagoj Vida (16). “What frustrates me the most: I’ll never know how the game would have ended at eleven against eleven”, Babel annoyed in the “kicker”: “Because we were in the beginning very well in the game, I also had a good dribbling, everyone looked confident. ”
After that, the forces were starting to slow down: “Being outnumbered in Munich can not be good, because then Bayern is more than a number too big for us, so honest we have to be.” A 0-5 swatter would have the “eagles” yet “certainly not earned”.
Besiktas wants to save the “name in Europe”
For Babel, who came to the black and white last winter and scored 17 competitive goals in 55 games for Besiktas, the end of the Champions League is as good as sealed: “I always hoped we’d have a little more Chance, but with the result, of course, the thing is through. ”
In the second leg in Istanbul (14.03., 18 clock) it would be “only about that we save our name in Europe with a good home game”. Babel is sure: “In Istanbul with eleven against eleven and our magnificent backdrop we will show that.”
Babel laced the shoes for TSG Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga between 2011 and 2012. In Kraichgau, however, the outside winger never really got going and scored only five goals in 46 Bundesliga games. This was followed by moves to Kasimpasa SK in Turkey, Al Ain FC in the United Arab Emirates and Deportivo La Coruna to Spain, before Besiktas became aware of the attacker. “My contract runs until the summer of 2019, I play here for a big club and I’m proud of it,” said Babel to the journal.
